About Diana Gill
“I have always found that women and their bodies are amazing,” says Diana Gill, M.D. “Guiding women through all stages of their lives is wonderful.
“Seeing a woman walk into my office healthy and well only weeks after I performed an emergency surgery or seeing a patient back for her annual exam and realizing that she took my advice to heart and significantly improved her health-these are the moments that I live and work for.” A 2022 Portland Monthly "Top Doctor," Dr. Gill loves working with people. She became a doctor so she could to help and care for patients, educate them on how to stay healthy, avoid disease and to restore health whenever possible. She provides care that emphasizes prevention, wellness, nutrition and self care. She always takes the time to get to know her patients. “I love hearing their stories and understanding who they really are, what they are passionate about, but also what their weaknesses are and where they struggle. This knowledge helps me find the right treatment approach and build long-lasting connections.” Dr. Gill has a special interest in minimally invasive gynecological surgery, including laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and Da Vinci robotic procedures. She also collaborates with urology colleagues to perform pelvic organ prolapse surgery after conservative options such as pessary and physical therapy have failed. Dr. Gill’s personal struggle with infertility and pregnancy loss sparked her interest in caring for patients with similar problems. Extracurricular work in OB-GYN in Namibia, plus an emergency medicine elective in a Chicago trauma center, and her diverse experience during residency where she trained side-by-side with both midwives and pelvic floor surgeons alike allows her to provide the full range of obstetrical and gynecological care to women of all ages. As a Fellow of The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, her patient’s trust is built on a solid foundation. Dr. Gill was born and raised in Germany and loves it when local German patients “find” her. Oregon and Portland – in many ways – remind her of Germany; she appreciates the sustainability of the area and has felt right at home when she and her husband moved here in 2009. Together they have three boys and two dogs. They love hiking, skiing, camping, kayaking, and exploring Portland’s food scene. In her spare time Dr. Gill walks her kids to school, watches their soccer games or practices yoga in her garage. Dr Gill was amazing! When she walked into the room, she already knew everything about what was going on, she had already reviewed my chart and my detailed history so we weren't spending time in the visit going over that and could focus on the issue at hand. So many providers today have you fill out the paperwork ahead of the appointment which is very time consuming, and then don't bother to review it ahead of time. It was so refreshing that Dr Gill knew everything, and was also very sympathetic to how my infertility history would emotionally affect the issue at hand.
