Gefei A. Zhu, MD

Dr. Alex Zhu is a board-certified medical and surgical dermatologist with special interests in skin cancer treatment and complex medical dermatology. As a physician, he believes that optimal delivery of healthcare is integrative, collaborative, and above all, individualized to each of his patients. Many skin conditions are more than “skin deep” and he takes pride in identifying and addressing root causes for the patients whom he sees in clinic. Dr. Zhu graduated from Yale University summa cum laude with a degree in Chemistry. He then completed a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health before earning his medical degree from Stanford University. He completed his residency in dermatology at Stanford University and served as Chief Resident in his final year. During his medical training, he conducted many research studies in skin cancer and inflammatory skin conditions and has more than 20 peer-reviewed publications. He joined Providence Medical Group in 2022 and enjoys seeing adult and pediatric patients. Previously, he practiced in Southwest Washington as a general dermatologist. He is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology. Outside of clinic, Dr. Zhu enjoys spending time with his wife and their golden retriever-cocker spaniel mix. He enjoys hiking, ceramics, and cooking/baking.
