About Ty P. Affleck
Dr. Affleck is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and the Medical College of Virginia. While completing a Family Practice Residency in Colorado, he became affiliated with the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, and supervised drug testing crews for the United States Olympic Committee for over a decade. During a Fellowship at The Sports Medicine Clinic in Seattle he worked with high school, college, and professional athletes including the Seattle Mariners, the Rainier Cup hydroplane racers, and PRCA rodeo cowboys.
Currently, Dr. Affleck serves as the Team Physician for Santa Rosa Junior College, and serves as Medical Director for several high-profile athletic events, including the Vineman/Ironman Triathlon and Levi's GranFondo, as well as community events like the Windsor Green Half Marathon, the Human Race and Girls On The Run.
Dr. Affleck is board certified in Family Practice and fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine. He is a member of the Sonoma County Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is the founder and board president of North Coast Concussion Management, a non-profit community benefit organization bringing concussion care expertise and education to Sonoma County student athletes, coaches and families.
At Santa Rosa Sports & Family Medicine, Dr. Affleck specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of athletic injuries with special focus on biomechanics and non-operative orthopaedics. Dr. Affleck also collaborates with specialized Nurse Practitioners and our Nutritionist to deliver a full spectrum of Family Practice services to families and athletes of all abilities who share the desire to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.
