My primary care dr. Has her own agenda and is very rigid about providing care by the book or by standard operating procedures. Not all cases or conditions are the same for everybody.People should be treated on an individual basis and not as a herd of sheep. I got a referal for a urologist out of the group because l couldn't get a procedure done at the time l wanted, only to find out that it wasn't the Dr. Who was doing the scheduling it was St. Jude Hospital. You may need a review of your standard operating procedures.

After being Dr. Joanna Tan's patient for over 25 years, I was apprehensive about getting a new doctor! Dr. Colette Shiu was an excellent replacement for Dr. Tan. She was thorough and friendly and had my best interests in mind.

Provider was apt in giving answers to inquiry re health issues, vaccinations etc. I am a new patient to Dr Shiu. I met her 2 X and my experience has been good so far.

Members of medical team are very nice, courteous, professional. I wish I did not have to wait that long. I recently switched to Dr. Shiu after Dr. Kenneth Tan retired. When I had my first appointment with her, she showed efforts to get to know me by going through my medical history and medications. When I had annual physical exam, she checked thoroughly, even though there were things that Dr. Kenneth Tan did and Dr. Shiu did not do. She listened to my questions and provided answers. She went through lab results thoroughly and discussed plans to improve my health. I knew she had another patient, and it was already 5:17 pm. I felt bad for Dr. Shiu and forgot to ask her to refill my medications. The team Informed her, and Dr. Shiu refilled the prescriptions right away. There are a few other positive things that I may have missed mentioning here, that is why I like Dr. Shiu very much. However, even though Dr. Shiu spent enough time with me, in the future, I will try morning appointments. Perhaps Dr. Shiu would not feel rushed.

This doctor has not been very clear about her plans for my treatment. If I were to use her service in the future I would insist that any treatment be clearly stated on my chart. She required me to see a family consoler and was unaware that he was promoting me to use an out of plan psychiatrist. Personally my faith in the services here leave a doubt about the providers methods and goals. Actually I find this unacceptable.

I came in with a lot of minor issues and concerns, but my doctor still took the time to go over and address every single one. Could not ask for a more thorough provider. Thank you.
