About Shanelle D. O'Dell
In her practice as a physician assistant, Shanelle O'Dell emphasizes trust, honesty, communication and team work with her patients. "My most important role is that of an educator," she says. "I like to teach my patients about prevention, their health conditions and how they can live a healthy lifestyle.
My philosophy of care is team based. I expect patients to be as involved in their health care as I am." Shanelle knew at the age of 6 that medicine was where she belonged. She was fascinated with the body and how it works. Shanelle chose family medicine so she could care for patients through all stages of life.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Carroll College in Helena, Montana, she completed her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.
Shanelle is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She was born and raised in Portland. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son and two Boston Terriers.
