About Heather M. Brennan
I grew up in Overland Park, just outside of Kansas City, Missouri. I was inspired to become a physician because of my grandfather, he was a family doctor in Bray, Ireland. I always loved that he could treat people of all ages. I initially went to college for special education, but found myself researching diseases and was drawn to medicine. I went to medical school in St. Louis, Missouri, and then moved to Spokane, Washington for residency. When I met my husband, he was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. We both loved Spokane, so after he retired from the Air Force, we made this our home. We have three very active sons. I joined Providence because I am excited to work with an excellent team. It is important to me to work for a nonprofit organization that has a mission to treat patients with the highest quality. I am also a firm believer in preventive health care. My philosophy of care is to listen to patients’ beliefs and concerns about their health and try to incorporate that into their health care plan. I love knowing about my patients and their families, and developing lasting relationships with them. This helps me take better care of them.I love being involved with families during the most important moments of their lives, and feeling like I’ve helped make a difference in improving their health. PERSONAL INTERESTS: Dr. Brennan finds that the best way for her to stay healthy is to do activities with her family. They like to ski, bike on trails, and hike. Dr. Brennan also enjoys reading and spending time in the garden. Her family grows a vegetable garden every summer.

When Dr. Brennan is not caring for patients, she is busy being the den mother for her sons’ Cub Scouts troop. Both her husband’s family and her mother’s family are originally from Ireland, and they love to go visit their extended family there when they can.
