About Jon M. Hartinger
Following an injury in high school, Jon Hartinger, DO, was inspired by his family physician to enter the medical field. "I was interested in helping people with the perspective of being a patient myself," he says. "Family medicine allows me to build relationships with patients and their families, while incorporating my interests in sports medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine."
As a physician, Dr. Hartinger believes his most important role is to work as a team with patients to improve their quality of life while avoiding treatment approaches that cause more harm than good.
Dr. Hartinger earned his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, where he also completed a pre-doctoral teaching fellowship in osteopathic manipulative medicine. Dr. Hartinger completed a family medicine internship and residency with Family Medicine of Southwest Washington in Vancouver.
Having grown up in Vancouver, Dr. Hartinger enjoys contributing to the overall health of the community. He works as a clinical preceptor for medical students from Washington State University College of Medicine. He also works as a team physician for the Portland Winterhawks and University of Portland athletic department.
In his spare time, Dr. Hartinger enjoys golfing, hiking, gardening and spending time with his wife and two children.
