About Amy Tsai
A 2022 Portland Monthly "Top Doctor," Amy Tsai, M.D., is a pediatric gastroenterologist with Providence Pediatric Gastroenterology. She is passionate about helping children get well so they can enjoy being kids. Dr. Tsai joined our team after a move from Minnesota where she cared for children at Minnesota Gastroenterology. She is no stranger to the Pacific Northwest – Dr. Tsai was instrumental in establishing Seattle Children’s Hospital’s first pediatric motility program.
Dr. Tsai is married and has two children. They love spending time outdoors and exploring Oregon. She was born in Chicago and spent at least half of her childhood living abroad in Taiwan. Dr. Tsai speaks Mandarin Chinese and medical Spanish. She completed a fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in their Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Prior to that, Dr. Tsai completed a pediatric internship and residency at New York Medical College at Westchester and received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Edison, New Jersey. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, and the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society.
