Adam Purtell, MD

Dr. Adam Purtell is board certified in general surgery and is one of the few Fellowship Trained Bariatric Surgeons in the state of Texas. This means that he has received additional highly specialized training in Bariatric surgery. Dr. Purtell received his medical degree from University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston and Texas Tech Department of Surgery. Dr. Purtell then traveled to Houston where he completed his one year Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy and Bariatric Surgery with the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He is also a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Purtell returned to the west Texas community that he grew up in and joined SWAT Surgical to provide bariatric and general surgery to the citizens of west Texas and eastern New Mexico. He specializes in Revisions of Bariatric surgeries, Gastric Sleeve, and the Gastric Bypass and robotic general surgeries.
