Udip Dahal, MD

Dr. Dahal became a physician for a simple reason: he has a passion for healing people and helping them during vulnerable times. As a specialist in infectious diseases, he emphasizes evidence-based medicine in his practice.

“Health is a universal value,” says Dr. Dahal. “All people deserve to be treated with full human dignity.” Compassion, empathy and respect for others are the three traits he believes are most important in his role as a physician.

Dr. Dahal earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), the international equivalent of an M.D., at Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Nepal. He completed his internship and residency at Staten Island University Hospital in New York, followed by a fellowship at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. He is board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease.

Born and raised in Nepal, he has two children. In his leisure time, he enjoys trekking.
