Mary Walker (She/Her), CNM, DNP

“The breadth and depth of caring for people in all stages of life is truly amazing,” says Mary Walker, certified nurse midwife. “It is an honor to provide genuine care for birthing bodies, newborns, and their families, and to learn about and uphold the sacred space of birth in the hospital setting.”
Mary emphasizes transparent communication and respects the individual choices and perspectives of each person. “Shared decision making and trauma-informed care guide my approach to every interaction. I believe each individual is the expert of their own body,” says Mary. “I see my role as offering support and information, so people are confident in making choices about their health and wellbeing. Please feel free to ask questions and ask for the care you desire! I welcome feedback and requests that create a safe and smooth experience for you.” Outside of midwifery, Mary spends time tending to her ever-changing and growing garden, enjoys hiking and neighborhood walks, meditating, reading, resting, and connecting with friends, family, and nature. She is interested in trauma healing and is finishing the final year of training in Somatic Experiencing with the intention of applying this knowledge to her daily life to show up with more capacity in the work she does, and to share it with clients and colleagues when the moment calls for it.
