About Kendra M. Bloomfield
I always knew I wanted to go into science, but I didn't know medicine was the right field for me until I realized how much I love working with people. Medicine gives me the opportunity to treat and develop relationships with my patients, not just their illnesses. I chose to be an OB/GYN because I am passionate about women's health. Women are so often forgotten in the healthcare system and I have chosen to dedicate my life to advocating for them.
I like to emphasize to my patients that our relationship is a cooperation. It is very important that we work together to find a treatment plan and goals that you are comfortable with. I want to encourage all of my patients to speak up if they have questions or concerns that are unanswered, or if they feel like we're not achieving our goals together.
My most important role as a physician is to educate my patients. I want all of my patients to feel thoroughly informed about all of their options, and be prepared for whichever treatment we choose. It is important to me that patients feel comfortable with advocating for themselves because they understand their symptoms and illnesses.
My favorite part of this job is helping my patients feel heard. Even when I'm unable to completely resolve their problem, listening to how it may affect their lives and getting their symptoms to a manageable level is worth coming to work every day. My philosophy is that, as a patient, you deserve the best care possible with a physician who you trust. I will work hard to make sure you have confidence in my ability to be your doctor.
I like to work with all ages of women with all manner of symptoms. Together we can find the right treatment for you, whether that is medication, physical therapy, frequent check-ins, surgery, or even sending to you another physician, I want you to feel cared for and never leave my office with questions.
I moved to Medford from Kentucky, where I have lived my whole life until now. I love hiking, backpacking, camping, and spending time outside any way that I can. I'm also starting a farm at my new home. I recently added goats and chickens to the mix. I'm a knitter and love to read a good book.
