Watching family members go through the medical system as patients motivated Sarah to become a nurse practitioner “These experiences helped me see what a difference an empathic and skilled medical provider can make,” she says. “A good provider helps people feel cared for and empowered when they’re at their most vulnerable.”

As a specialist in mother and baby care and lactation support, Sarah loves advocating for her patients. She is committed to actively listen and consider the unique physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each individual. “I think of myself as a healthcare consultant who provides information, and who strategizes with families to find solutions that work for them within their unique circumstances,” she says. “My patients are in charge. I’m here to walk alongside them and provide my expertise as they enter into the journey of parenthood—with all its joys and challenges.”

Sarah completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition from the University of California, Davis.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest and playing with her three kids. She and her husband have a special interest in providing care for under-served populations. Together, they have taken part in medical outreach efforts locally, as well as in Ethiopia, El Salvador and Mexico
