Lindsay A. Parlee, MD

“Movement is medicine, and sports medicine is for anyone,” says Dr. Parlee. “Our ability to move helps us shape and bring meaning to life. It keeps our muscles flexible, our bones strong, and our organs functioning well. I’m here to help keep you moving so you can continue to do the things that bring value to your life.”

Dr. Parlee’s interest in medicine began in high school, when a sports medicine physician helped her recover from knee surgery, get back on the field and continue vying for a college soccer scholarship. After that, she says, “I knew I wanted to help people.” In her practice, she enjoys learning people’s stories while partnering with them as an educator, advocate and coach on their health journeys. “My role is to empower patients to make decisions that will further their own health and well-being,” she says. In addition, as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, she strives to create a safe space for all people and to provide care that respects her patients’ cultural and personal values and beliefs.

A graduate of the University of Oregon, Dr. Parlee earned her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University. She completed her residency at PeaceHealth Family Medicine of Southwest Washington, and her fellowship in sports medicine at Marshall Primary Care in Huntington, WV. She is board certified in sports medicine and family medicine.

Dr. Parlee is a former soccer coach (club, high school and college) and high school science teacher. In her free time, she enjoys going to Portland Thorns games, snowboarding, working on DIY home projects, hanging out with her dog, cooking for friends and family members, and traveling with her girlfriend.
