Here’s what you need to know: Vaccinated people are much less likely to need hospitalization or become seriously ill than unvaccinated people who get COVID. Vaccination remains the single best way to keep yourself and those close to you safe.

“The cornerstone of our response to this pandemic is vaccination, masking, distancing and hand hygiene,” says Steven Freer, M.D., chief medical officer for Providence in Oregon. “We can work together to end this pandemic.”
