Providence names chief administrative officer of Providence Alaska Medical Center

Providence Alaska has named Sarah Skeel as Chief Administrative Officer of Providence Alaska Medical Center, beginning Feb. 12.

The chief administrative officer position is responsible for the overall administrative oversight of clinical operations at the hospital, including neurosciences, orthopedics, cardiovascular, cancer center, the Providence Imaging Center, surgical services, inpatient radiology, food and nutrition, therapies with wound care, and the Service Operations Center.

Sarah brings 17 years of experience in hospital clinical and administrative leadership positions in the fields of behavioral health, oncology, cardiovascular, neuroscience, orthopedic, and surgical and procedural services. In her previous role, she served as executive director of surgical and procedural services at the hospital. 

Born and raised in Alaska, Sarah is passionate about seeing and addressing the patient experience from a whole person approach, ensuring teams have the tools to be at their best, and is driven to fill service gaps needed in our community so Alaskan families can receive the high-quality care they deserve close to home.

She is a Fellow for the American College of Healthcare Executives, has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Alaska Anchorage, a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Idaho, and is a licensed clinical social worker.
