UV Safety Awareness Month

UV Safety Awareness

Yesss! Finally, summer has arrived here in the PNW. When you are on the beach, the pool, at sports event or with your children on the playground, does the possibility of developing skin cancer later in life cross your mind?

Fact is, how you care for your skin now — and your children’s — may make a big difference down the road. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the world, accounting for almost half of cancer cases. Johns Hopkins Medicine states that according to the American Cancer Society, about 3.5 million cases of skin cancer are diagnosed in the United States each year. Wearing sunscreen properly and consistently ― applying broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or more ― can lower your risk.

Stay informed – be prepared – be safe!
