Queen of the Valley Medical Center recognized by U.S. News & World Report and the American Heart Association for providing award-winning care

Napa, Calif. (Aug. 5, 2024) – U.S. News & World Report recently recognized Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center as a High Performing hospital in five procedures or conditions – heart attack, heart failure, hip fracture, kidney failure and stroke. This is the highest distinction a hospital can earn for U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings. A high performing rating indicates a hospital was significantly better than the national average in a given procedure or condition.

“For 35 years, U.S. News has been a leading resource for patients navigating their health care decisions,” said Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News. “The ‘High Performing’ designation acknowledges hospitals that consistently deliver high-quality care for specific medical procedures and conditions. This recognition highlights their expertise and commitment to patient well-being.”

These annual ratings are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for 20 challenging health conditions or elective procedures.

Additionally, Queen of the Valley received the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines. The medical center was also listed on the AHA’s Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll for providing quality care for diabetes patients.

“Our caregivers and medical staff are committed to providing the highest level of care to our friends, families and neighbors in Napa County ensuring every patient has access to leading-edge procedures and research-backed treatments,” said Chief Administrative Officer Scott Ciesielski. “I want to congratulate our physicians, nurses and staff members who made this achievement possible by providing exceptional outcomes for our community.”
