Providence Swedish Rehabilitation Hospital opens in Lynnwood

The facility increases inpatient rehab beds available in our region.

The grand opening of the Providence Swedish Rehabilitation Hospital in Lynnwood this week is a big win for patients. The new facility increases the current beds available in our region, which is welcome news since Washington state ranks fifth in the nation for the lowest number of inpatient rehabilitation beds compared to population size.

"We recognized the enormous need for these services," said Kristy Carrington, chief executive, Providence Swedish North Puget Sound. "That’s why we’re proud to partner with Lifepoint Rehabilitation to provide patients – especially the growing number of stroke and traumatic brain injury patients – more access to these specialized services."

The facility is jointly operated by Providence Swedish and Lifepoint Rehabilitation Services. Lifepoint brings a personalized inpatient care model to the new facility, focusing on acute rehabilitation and recovery for patients who suffer from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, complex neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, multiple traumas, amputation and other injuries or disorders.

Outfitted with leading-edge amenities and adaptive units, including an eight-bed brain injury unit, a dialysis suite, and several multidisciplinary therapy gymnasiums, it is well-suited to support patients with a variety of care needs. A specialized suite, in addition to a therapy kitchen and laundry area, give patients the opportunity to work through activities of daily living. A therapeutic courtyard is outfitted with exterior amenities designed to promote patient ambulation and activity.

Providence Swedish Rehabilitation Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 40-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals who have experienced the debilitating effects of a severe injury or illness.
