Providence opens new primary care clinic in East Anchorage

Providers, caregivers and PMG leaders gathered Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, to participate in a blessing for the clinic before the first patient walked through the doors.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Providence Medical Group (PMG) in Alaska recently opened a new primary care clinic in East Anchorage. Providence Primary Care – Debarr began seeing patients on Monday, Feb. 3.

The new clinic operates at 6307 DeBarr Road, Suite C, in the former location of Patients First Medical Clinic, which operated in East Anchorage for more than 20 years. PMG acquired the clinic in December 2024.

As part of the acquisition, Patients First providers joined Providence as new caregivers, composing much of the same care team that Patients First patients came to know. Former patients of Patients First can see their same provider at PMG – now with coordinated referrals for Providence services, such as pharmacy, behavioral health and specialty care, among others.

“The new DeBarr location serves as a critical resource for the surrounding community,” said Tamara Brown, chief executive of Providence Medical Group in Alaska. “I’m thrilled that PMG can offer these patients expanded access to Providence’s comprehensive network of high-quality health care options, and I’m grateful to the team who worked together to make it possible.”

Providence Primary Care - DeBarr will be open 7 a. m.-6 p. m. Monday-Friday and closed on Saturday and Sunday. For more information or to schedule an appointment, visit providence.org/locations/ak/primary-care-debarr
