Providence Everett’s New Injury and Violence Prevention Program
What’s New
Providence Everett is excited to announce the launch of a new injury and violence prevention program, the first of its kind in Snohomish County. Created by Sarah Brouwer, Providence Everett's trauma services injury prevention and community outreach educator, the program aims to create safer environments for children and the entire community through the promotion of responsible gun storage and open conversations about safety practices.
⇒ Even if you don't own a firearm, your children might spend time at homes with guns, making it essential for them to know how to stay safe and prevent accidents. Let's work together to make our community safer!
What to Expect
The program kicks off with a quarterly webinar in collaboration with BeSMART and the Snohomish County Health Department. BeSMART is a public education campaign focused on preventing gun injuries and deaths by encouraging responsible gun storage. Representatives from the Snohomish County Health Department will present for the first webinar:

About BeSMART
The Be SMART campaign was launched in 2015 to promote responsible gun ownership in order to reduce the deaths, injuries and trauma that can result when a child or teen is able to access a gun. Since that time, Be SMART volunteers have encouraged community leaders to come together to emphasize the importance of gun safety and the everyday actions we all can take to keep guns out of the hands of kids.
