About Amanda L. Barclay
Amanda channeled her interests in science, medicine and helping others into the ideal career as a physician assistant. “My favorite thing about being a health care provider is connecting with patients and working with them to achieve their optimal health,” she says.
In her practice, Amanda emphasizes treating the whole person, addressing both mental and physical health and the relationship between the two. She also places a high priority on educating patients to make sure they understand their conditions and treatments. “I encourage patients to play an active role in their health care,” she says, “from practicing preventive care to managing their chronic conditions through diet, exercise and lifestyle changes.”
Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree in human physiology from the University of Oregon and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) from Pacific University. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. In her spare time, she enjoys golfing, hiking, yoga, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
