About Grant A. Jolliffe
Grant Jolliffe, FNP-PP, NP-C, became a health care professional because he wanted a career that fulfilled his desire to care for people in need and one that allowed him to be a contributing member of his community. “I loved caring for my patients when I worked as a registered nurse, but I wanted to do more,” he says. “As a family nurse practitioner, I can use my skills to assess, diagnose and provide care for my patients throughout their lives.”
In his practice, Grant is compassionate, patient, a good listener, a team player and flexible. He emphasizes a comprehensive approach to individualized care, treating the whole patient rather than a list of symptoms. Educating each patient about a diagnosis, prognosis and other needs is a strong priority. “I focus on health maintenance and medical decision making that respect the unique complexities of my patients’ lives,” Grant says. His most important role as a medical provider is adapting health care to meet his patients’ goals and providing medical education on complex health conditions so they can get the most out of life. He prioritizes empowering patients by providing clear, comprehensive information so they can better understand their conditions and are able to take proactive roles in their own care. He believes in health promotion, disease prevention and health education, while respecting each of his patients’ individual goals and needs. “I most enjoy being a positive influence in my patients’ lives and understanding how I can best serve their needs,” he says. In addition, Grant is committed to ongoing, professional growth and education. “Medicine is an ever-changing field and I don’t pretend to know it all. If I don’t have the answer to your question, I will spend the time to collaborate with other health professionals and find the information you need.”
Grant earned his bachelors in nursing from Southern Oregon University in Ashland. He completed his masters in nursing from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Born and raised in Oregon, Grant has many ties to the community. He is married and has two boys and he and his family are involved in the deaf community, often communicating in American Sign Language. In his free time, Grant enjoys many of Southern Oregon’s recreational opportunities such as camping, mountain biking, skiing, fishing, hunting, and attending the theater and musical concerts.

Providence Patient
Grant is phenomenal. When I first came to him with the issues I was having he took the time to sit down with me and really try to understand. He followed up with blood panels and has always been very aware of my ASD diagnosis and the flat affect that accompanies it. In the past, medical providers have failed to recognize the severity of certain issues, even when I plainly state them, because my reactions and facial expressions are inherently muted, which has shown to be both frustrating and potentially dangerous. But not Grant. He takes the time to listen and understand that although I may not be capable of outward expression at the levels commonly seen in neurotypical individuals, that my issues are still valid and in need of being addressed. For a person who has spent the majority of his life being misunderstood because of something out of his control, his willingness to see beyond and spend the time to hear my words for what they are is a game changer. I don't think I could really imagine having anyone else as my primary care after a lifetime of being dismissed and ignored.
