About Daniel H. Norfleet
In his practice, Daniel Norfleet, MD, emphasizes respect for all his patients. "I try to do this by creating ongoing conversations about what's important for the patient in terms of medical care and decisions," he says. "I want to ensure my patients have a comprehensive understanding of their health care plan."
As a physician, Dr. Norfleet most enjoys the social interaction and continuity of care with patients. "It keeps me invested and interested in caring for others," he says. "Learning about my patients' backgrounds and the relationship between their medical concerns and values or preferences make each visit different and challenging."
Before entering medicine, Dr. Norfleet was a Jesuit volunteer working with the HIV population in Alaska. He values working with people from diverse backgrounds. "It's important for me to create and maintain a safe, welcoming space for my patients," he says.
After earning his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Dr. Norfleet completed his residency at Providence Portland Medical Center. He is board certified in internal medicine.
Dr. Norfleet was born in South Korea and grew up in Virginia and Alabama with his adoptive family. He and his partner are happy to call Portland home. In his free time, he enjoys Bikram yoga, traveling, tennis and cooking.

Some of these questions are difficult to answer since I was without an assigned doctor from November until I chatted with Dr. Norfleet last week so please don't take any less than stellar comments, or lack of comments, as any negative towards him or his staff. From the one time meeting I had with him and his quick response to the results of my blood tests, he seems to be knowledgable, thoughtful, and considerate of his patients.
