Watch: Virtual Community Health Forum from the Providence Heart Institute at St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka
An expert panel from the cardiac care team at the Providence Heart Institute at St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka hosted a virtual community health forum recently and provided the public an opportunity to hear the latest details about the high-quality heart care available on the North Coast.
The Heart Institute is led by Joseph Arcidi, Jr., MD, FACS, FACC, Medical director, Cardiac Surgery; David Philips, MD, Medical Director, Cardiology; and Corinna Cooper, RN, BSN, Director, Cardiovascular Services.
Dr. Arcidi has exceptional credentials and experience, having completed his medical training at some of the leading institutions in the country, including Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; Massachusetts General Hospital Surgical Residency; Emory University Cardiovascular Surgery Fellowship; Washington University Barnes Hospital Thoracic Transplant Fellowship; and Cleveland Clinic Cardiovascular Surgery.
Dr. Philips received his medical degree from New York Medical College, completed his Cardiology Fellowship at the Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas and his interventional cardiology Fellowship at Scripps Green Hospital in San Diego. Dr. Philips has over 12 years of cardiology experience and over 7 years in Interventional Cardiology. He uses the transradial approach for most percutaneous coronary interventions, an approach that has been associated with lower risk of bleeding and vascular complications than the transfemoral approach.
